Budget-friendly doesn’t always mean breathtaking and stunningly sleek right? This is a common obstacle you may face as a lover of chic spaces. Sometimes our interior taste and budgetary needs just don’t meet up. Even the small details we’ve assumed could be obtained with ease, like budget-friendly curtain rods, threaten to eat up a bulk of our design expense budget.
Then you spend hours searching for what seems like the simplest accessory, in fear of caving on your interior dreams, and sacrificing quality.
If it sounds like I speak from experience on this subject, I do! Many hours of my time have been used in search of items like curtains, curtain rods throw pillows, and hardware. What I like to call my “champagne taste,” often leads me to items that have a polished and/or a unique look. However, they may not fit within other constraints.
Therefore, I must seek out items of a similar design and quality at a steal of a price. It may take a little more time, but more often than not, I get what I want. And that makes me happy.

Curtain Rod Hunting Tips
One word: coupons. The curtain rod I chose for my sister’s window treatment (number 3 above) was purchased on kohls.com, on a day they were offering $10 off. This brought the price down to $35 from $45. It is also available at Hayneedle (linked above).
In addition, I also had a 15% off coupon from Crate and Barrel, 20% off at Pier 1, 10% off at Wayfair, and a few others I considered. I purposely shopped at places where I knew I could receive an additional discount. I was also not opposed to signing up for the mailing list, just to receive 15% off. If it must be done, it must be done.
Many of the designs you crave may be designed and carried by popular furniture stores, but that doesn’t mean you can’t find something comparable. Take a look at department stores, and online discount retailers. You’ll be surprised by what you can find. Just don’t cave on your interior dreams. It may take a bit more time, but if your experience is anything like mine, it will be worth it.
