This moody powder room makeover is definitely overdue, so to say I’m excited would be an understatement. Mood board and reveal days are by far my favorite posts to bring to you. Why? Because there’s just something about the thrill of beginning a project, and showcasing the final product after so much hard work.
The only thing different about this final product, is that the hard work didn’t take so long. I went into this aiming for a mini micro room makeover, using few materials, money, and time. Well, that’s just what was done, and I couldn’t be happier with the results.
Granted, the actual reveal took some time due to shipping times for an ordered item, and photography delays due to a new bun in the oven, but hey, what can you do? Either way, I’m glad to show you how I went from a simple mood board, to this moody powder room makeover success.
I won’t hold you any longer. Let’s get to the good stuff.
Powder Room Before and After
The biggest transformation in this moody powder room makeover was truly the paint color. This is the second makeover this bathroom has seen, with the first resulting in a huge 180 compared to the original look. Let’s take a brief look back at the original design.
From the olive walls, to the peeling floor, you can see this bathroom needed a serious upgrade. We brightened it up a bit and took it from flat and outdated to chic and happy!

This time around I got a chance to try out PPG paint’s timeless line of colors and I jumped at the chance to test it out on our powder room. I’ve always wanted to go dark and moody so what better place to try it on than our powder room. After the painting was done, and a few accessories were switched, I couldn’t believe the transformation.
I love the contrast of the moody walls and white herringbone floor. I also love how fitting it is for the season right now. Enough of me gabbing. Take a look for yourself.
